general purpose of this scholarship is to assist
deserving band students who will be attending
college, but not as music majors, with tuition
and/or campus living expenses. Scholarship(s)
will be awarded provided funds are available.

general purpose of this scholarship
is to assist deserving band/flag
corps students with financial
assistance for the cost of band
camp. Scholarships will be awarded
provided funds are available.

Knight Sammons Memorial Scholarship |
|
This prestigious scholarship honors
the memory and legacy of Sheila
Knight Sammons, Co-Director of the
Vero Beach High School Band from
1980 until her passing on Sept. 10,
1995. Sheila Knight Sammons
dedicated herself to her band
students and made significant
contributions to the excellence and
the continuing traditions of the
Vero Beach High School Band program.
Recipients of this scholarship
should consider it as a reflection
of the honor given to and the high
expectations of Sheila Knight
Sammons.
The purpose of this scholarship is
to provide funds for eligible
recipients for educational expenses,
including tuition, books, room and
board, at institutions of higher
learning ("Collegiate Scholarship")
and for the expenses for summer
music camp ("Summer Camp
Scholarship").

non-renewable
grant to be issued to an approved
summer music camp on behalf of the
recipient. The grant may be used for
the study of instrumental music only

Music Camp Scholarship |
|
The general purpose of this
scholarship is to provide to a
promising musician a summer music
camp experience at a college campus
or similar setting where he or she
can study music with collegiate
faculty or other professionals.
This scholarship is funded through
the generosity of Mr. Joe Palazzola
who is a retired professional
trumpet performer and collegiate
band director. Mr. Palazzola is a
frequent volunteer assisting
students with brass instruction and
providing valuable musical
consultation to the band program.

scholarship is to assist deserving
band students who will be attending
college as instrumental music majors
with tuition and/or campus living
expenses. Scholarship(s) will be

scholarship is to assist deserving
band students who will be attending

Funding for all scholarships is pending funds
available for 2011. The various scholarship
boards and or the Fighting Indians Band Boosters
will determine whether or not funds will be
available for scholarships this year as applicable
to each individual scholarship. Unfortunately
due to the current budget situations some or all of
the scholarships listed MAY not be funded.
Final decisions as to funding will be announced
prior to May 15, 2011.
